On AI and Fear
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the very vocal and passionate push-back against AI from younger folks (primarily college-age adults). The internet is full of clips from commencement speeches right now where the speaker (who’s generally around my age) is talking to graduating seniors about AI and getting booed. The reactions from the speakers run the gamut from utterly bewildered to downright condescending.
I don’t think what we’re seeing is a moral divide or an economic divide. Well, it’s not just that, at least. I think what we’re seeing is a generational divide.

I love stories. I’ve always loved stories.
Stories are how we make sense of the world around us and how we express our own experiences. Everyone has a story and those stories define us.
I’ve worked with a wide range of clients to help them tell stories–from global leaders in the automotive and communications industries and GRAMMY award-winning artists to small churches and local businesses. Every single person and organization that I’ve worked with has the same need: they need to tell their story. The stories we tell (and the stories others tell about us) tell us who we are and what we’re capable of.
This site is where I tell MY stories.
These stories are mine. They’re stories about the world around me and, sometimes, they’re stories about me. Here you’ll find fiction (mostly sci-fi and fantasy), poetry (sometimes defined very loosely), reviews, and essays about stuff on my mind. This is my playground–the old-school kind with super tall monkey bars and rusty swings–so explore and have a good time.
Be careful, though, the slide is metal and gets hot in the sun.
